You are using the WRONG VERSION OF VIRTUALBOX (version: 6.0.14).
Uninstall current version, REBOOT PC, download and install VirtualBox 5.2.44 (released July 14 2020) for Windows.
This project does not like any VBOX greater than 5.xx and cause the problem you have experienced.

I suspect with all the CURRENT COVID-19 LOCKDOWNS ACROSS EUROPE it will be quite a while longer as they probably can not gain physical access to server(s) to update anything...

You can do several things:
1) Let it continue to check to see if it can connect to project servers, WHICH WILL NOT HAPPEN UNTIL THE PROJECT RENEWS ITS SECURITY CERTIFICATE.
There is no information posted when the project owner(s)/administrator(s) will be doing that.
I suspect with all the CURRENT COVID-19 LOCKDOWNS ACROSS EUROPE it will be quite a while longer as they probably can not gain physical access to server(s).

2) Set No New Work and/or Suspend project until issue #1 is resolved.

3) Delete it from you computers until issue #1 is resolved.

SEEMS NO ONE IS AT THE HELM OF THIS SHIP AND IT IS RUNNING ON AUTOPILOT READY TO CRASH INTO AN ICEBERG

I still have tasks going back to 19 Nov 2018, 23:30:35 UTC that are still Pending Validation.

According to the Server Status Page everything is Green / running but there is a script error noted at the bottom of the page:
Task data as of 2 Dec 2018, 15:31:12 UTC

Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in /home/boincadm/project/html/project/project.inc on line 435

7) Forums : Technical Support : Can NOT upload completed work. Server problems? (Message 21930)

Post:
Get "the project is down for maintenance" message.

BOINC can report task as completed but not do the 2nd part to upload completed task.

See that just about everything on server page is red.

Hope it is not something major again.
