I usually suspend cosmology@home and BOINC will download new tasks and then I can resume cosmology@home. Increasing my cache size would allow BOINC to download more cosmology@home tasks when it asks for more work which would make the problem worse. I think it may be a problem with BOINC'S scheduler. The priority should be to keep all cores running even if it has to download 1 extra task more than what ever size I have my cache set to.

Cosmology@home is working the way I set it up to run. 1 task at a time using 1 core. All the other cores are running other projects until one of them finishes then that core will stay idle. BOINC will not download any more tasks because there is another Cosmology@home task in the cache. Since I have it setup to run only 1 task at a time it won't start until the other one finishes and I have an idle core. If I have 3 or 4 Cosmology@home tasks in my cache then I will have even more idle cores if tasks from other projects have tasks that finish.

When I setup Cosmology@Home to run on 1 core BOINC will download more than 1 task for Cosmology@Home. If a task finishes for another project before the Cosmology@Home task. Then I have a core that will stay idle because my cache is full and BOINC will only run 1 Cosmology@Home task at a time.

I believe this is a BOINC problem not a Cosmology@Home home problem.
Has anyone else seen this before?
