Finished a number of jobs for Cosmology@Home a few days ago. They have now been in the uploading stage for 3 days, waiting to be uploaded and being rejected by the server. They will soon expire. What a waste - all that processing power could have been dedicated to other projects that actually had a use for it. Fortunately, other projects that I am attached to seem to be running normally.

So the project is dead or what?

Sam.

No news, no answers by admins team! The project servers is out of service! SSL Security certificates on this site is expired.
I hope none of the administrators were affected by COVID-19.

The science professor who did it (Ben Wandelt) was a visiting professor at U. of I., but is now back in Paris. And the software guru who did the boinc2docker code (Marius Millea) is now in California...

If this project existed because of and depended on the participation on two specific individuals who no longer contribute, and the project has apparently been placed on autopilot, then it hardly seems worth any further effort on my part, or on anyone else's, for that matter.

Pity. I joined in 2008, and while I'm a long way from the top of the leader board, I did believe in what they were trying to accomplish.

Guys,

it's really disgusting. Many weeks without a life sign. Dear administrators please give us from time to time some news even "we are still working on the problems and hope that we are back up in x weeks" so we crunchers know that the project is still alive.

They may have already accomplished it. We don't know what state they are in. But they were using artificial intelligence to refine the accuracy of their models, and we were doing the training for it. Maybe it is trained enough and they have lost interest.

Good thought. I hadn't considered that.

Kind of rude not to say something, tho'.

My 250 workunits that where stuck `uploading` have now "Timed out - no response "
What a lot of wasted time etc
And as we know the security certificate is still past its `use by date`
I am starting to think that Cosmo@home admin have been kidnaped by aliens
Wot next can happen . . . . .
[I know about the Arecibo telescope collapse]
And the `other` stuff
And the other `other` stuff that happened localy that din`nt make the world news
And the silly stuff that went on last night on our street . . . . .

sing # "Always look on the bright side of life"
Silly stuff on your street? Sounds interesting. Naked barbarians mudwrestling?

The web pages have returned. The feeder isn't running yet, but upload, download and scheduler are up and running!
