And what about the missing account problem? Is it not urgent?

Resource share settings made on the Cosmology@Home preferences page are apparently not currently getting propagated to the BOINC client -- even after several days, several workunits being completed, and a few manually-invoked "Updates" using the BOINC client "Projects" screen GUI.

Changes made to the resource share are persistent on the preferences Web page itself, but simply don't ever show up on the BOINC client side (for example in my "Projects" screen "Resource share" column).

This problem does not occur with any other BOINC projects that I'm running.

I'm hoping to avoid having to go adjust the resource shares for all my other projects (currently 15) in order to re-prioritize cosmology@home as a work-around.

Thanks,
J.D. Morgan

With 64 bit it would cut off network traffic the resualts were getting to be a prin....ANYONE HELP....MY FIREWALL IS ZONEALARM.

You could try using the 32 bit it seems to run more stable. I use to have the same problems...Two days no Network or mem problems.

I don't think anybody is interested in anything at all, this project is plain dead.

I would like to know on what hardware the project is running, it's quite reliable stuff running so long without any admin caring about it.

lol
saenger i must agree with you the person who setup this server did a good job making it extreme reliable but thats at this moment still the only good thing.
As of today i have not seen any other activity other then the lady from planck.
Thats why this project is since it started for me a very low priority project and to be honest i fear we are creating useless data.
Cause i really do not think anyone is looking at the data being done by us.
And ofcourse the long term problems never got any attention, including the weird removal of your account

Hi, sysadmin,

I attempted to download WUs twice this morning (US CST), but it looks like there's still a problem on the WU download server, I get task downloads started but can't complete the download because of the "file not found" error. It seems this problem has occurred before.

1/5/2012 07:07:50 | Cosmology@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks
1/5/2012 07:07:52 | Cosmology@Home | Started download of params_122011_221611_1.ini
1/5/2012 07:07:53 | Cosmology@Home | Giving up on download of params_122011_221611_1.ini: file not found

and

1/5/2012 07:09:08 | Cosmology@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks
1/5/2012 07:09:10 | Cosmology@Home | Started download of params_010312_163043_0.ini
1/5/2012 07:09:12 | Cosmology@Home | Giving up on download of params_010312_163043_0.ini: file not found

I was able to download one WU between the two failures:

1/5/2012 07:08:25 | Cosmology@Home | Reporting 1 completed tasks, requesting new tasks for CPU
1/5/2012 07:08:28 | Cosmology@Home | Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks
1/5/2012 07:08:31 | Cosmology@Home | Started download of params_010412_182141_0.ini
1/5/2012 07:08:32 | Cosmology@Home | Finished download of params_010412_182141_0.ini

so I still have work to do.

Cheers,
Stephen

Dear Ben, Falk, or whoever,

Looks like you have another server problem of which you may not be aware, yet. I am, and others are, receiving messages when we attempt to send results to the upload server that it is out of space.

... Error reported by file upload server: Server is out of disk space

The problem was originally posted in the Technical Support forum as "Can't upload, upload server out of disk space". I thought it should be bumped up to the Urgent Problems Thread since it is a server problem and could be an indication of a more serious problem.

Keep up the great work, and thanks.

Cheers,
Stephen

Faik -

Greetings. Today, and for the past several days now, my uploads to Cosmology@Home continue to fail with the same message indicated by Stephen in his note number 9969. Any status yet on a solution to this problem?

I currently have several completed jobs pending uploads to the server, and each time I attempt to force a retry, I receive another failure message. Help!

Dear C@H valued members,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Professor Wandelt is currently traveling, but he will look into this as soon as he is back. Dealing with this problem will be treated as a priority. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding.

Please do not hesitate to give us your feedback either on this issue and on any other matter that might come up in the future.
