I\'ve got a couple of macs unhappily waiting on the sidelines for a mac app. I know you have a lot on your plate, but there\'s a lot of us out here that could add some significant crunch ...

Ohiomike, those are the bits that go on the ends of curtain rods, no?
In the beginning, there was nothing, which exploded.

Sorry I haven\'t been making updates on this thread; things have been kind of hectic.

We\'ve gotten access to a machine here that should be able to compile a mac binary of CAMB. We\'re having a bit of a rough time with compiling it, though, since we\'re using a completely different FORTRAN 90 compiler than the other platforms.

We\'ll try to get it done ASAP, though.

I\'d be willing to help beta test a Mac version if you\'re looking for folks to help with that.

In the meantime, I guess I\'ll just have to crunch for this project when I\'m dual-booted on my Intel Mac. Hope to see a native version soon!

Sign me up too. I\'ve been running my Mac Pro under Linux, it would be nice to have it back in \"Mac Mode\" rather than having to reboot it when I need it.

I have run both Windoze and Linux under VMWare Fusion with success.

I\'ve written a howto for using the Windows BOINC client and a Windows science application within CrossOver on MacOS Intel without any great loss of performance. The tests at LHC shows, that is work with aceptable performance, but not as fast as a native application.
The howto is avialable at www.dotsch.de/boinc under the BOINC howto section.

Primarly it works with the Cosmology Application, except the CPU time measuring. Is this relevant ? - Am I right that the project uses fixed credits, and it is not neccesary, that the CPU time would be reported with 0 % ?

Yes, the project uses fixed credit. CPU time and benchmarks play no role. The 0% part of your question I don\'t understand. Best give it a try.

Ups, sorry meaned 0 seconds CPU time.
In the moment the first WU is at about 40 %. The cosmology application works with CPU throtteling in CrossOver without any problems.

And another 4 months gave gone by. Any news on the Mac-client? Cosmology@Home is the only project out of the recent Top-10 projects that does not support Mac OS X!

BUMP. Any news about the MacOS application ?
If you are interested, I can help you to port your application to MacOS PPC and Intel.
