Someone has to do it, might as well be me. This request will be a bit more difficult than the others, since I don't have the requisite hardware yet. I'll work on it, though. Scott Kruger Project Administrator, Cosmology@Home |

Well, if you decide to develope a Mac version, we'll be happy to test it ;) |

Well, if you decide to develope a Mac version, we'll be happy to test it ;) Ditto here. I have a G4 Mac Mini...but it is a mac. I also have a G3 imac...since that is sitting unloved and unused, you could have it if you like for the project...the only problem is that it runs panther (version 10.3) and of course has slightly dated hardware (something like 333MHz =) Bryan |

Ditto, I'd throw one core of my Mac Pro this way. One side note here: The OSx version is kind of a pain in that it requires a PPC and an Intel version, so don't beat on the developers too hard. ![]() ![]() Boinc Button Abuser In Training >My Shrubbers< |

Ditto, I'd throw one core of my Mac Pro this way. That's true... In fact, despite my all powerpc setup, I have to admit the intel macs have loads more crunching power, and an intel-only binary would probably be fine to start...I think CPDN allows only intel macs. |

I think CPDN allows only intel macs. Yup... I'm running it on my MacMini ;) But it's true that some projects have developed a Mac version now they're Intel powered La Tierra de un Dios que no supo aceptar / su falso derecho a la libertad - Tierra Santa Descárgate mi primer eBook Amaneceres |

If I got a new mac, could I run boinc within a virtual machine running ubuntu or something similar? Has anyone else done this? Computers are useless. They can only give you answers. (Pablo Picasso) |

If I got a new mac, could I run boinc within a virtual machine running ubuntu or something similar? Has anyone else done this? I'm using VMWare Fusion to run virtual Linux boxes on my Mac Pro: Active: MacLin-64, Red Hat FC 7 x86_64 MacLin-64b, Red Hat FC 7 x86_64 Test cases currently off-line: MacLin-32, Red Hat FC 7 i686 MacWin-32, Windows 2000 Pro PS- If you use Ubunta, set your power saving settings to max performance, otherwise it runs @ 50% of cpu speed. ![]() ![]() Boinc Button Abuser In Training >My Shrubbers< |

I might actually have access to a Mac cluster here with the requisite compilers and libraries, so a Mac binary might happen in the near future. Scott Kruger Project Administrator, Cosmology@Home |

I'm looking forward to getting my Mac on-line running native code instead of VM's. ![]() ![]() Boinc Button Abuser In Training >My Shrubbers< |

How close are we to a mac client? I'm bogged down with trying to get the new Windows app to compile correctly, so... not so close. Scott Kruger Project Administrator, Cosmology@Home |

How close are we to a mac client? Just to catch you before you catch your breath (ps- nice job with 1.26/1.27/2.00), is it getting close to Mac time? ![]() ![]() Boinc Button Abuser In Training >My Shrubbers< |

I am new to this. I used to run SETI@Home long long ago, but stopped. I have this G4 ibook 1.2ghz, and a dual 2.5 GHZ G5. If you make a mac version please also do ppc as well. |

I just had two more team members sign up, who were disappointed that their Macs were not supported. Any ETA on the Mac version I can pass along to them? ![]() ![]() Boinc Button Abuser In Training >My Shrubbers< |
