Guys -

I just upgraded to BOINC 5.10.20 after a short absence here, and cannot (re)attach.

Bringing this to your attention in case this is a problem associated with the beta/CAMB 1.27 cutover that you may not be aware of.

Regards,

Eddie

Do make sure you did (re)allow BOINC through any firewall you may have. Sometimes by updating the BOINC software, firewall software and Windows Defender get confused and don't allow BOINC through anymore.

Make sure it's allowed to communicate to the internet on ports 80 and 443. As else you may get into the problem that BOINC isn't allowed to make contact with the internet and then you get messages like that.

^^^

Ageless -

Thx for the quick reply.

I'll take a quick run thru on the port configs. I always have Defender disabled by default (I just use a hdwr router as a firewall, and AVG antivirus).

Since BOINC's inception I've never had an issues with my router or s/w security apps...well, until now!

Thx again.

A quick follow-up:

No issue I can see on my network, since I just did a quick successful "attach and detach" to another BOINC project.

I used the URL as directed on this site's frontpage:

http://www.cosmologyathome.org/

Can I assume this is the correct URL?

If so, then it's possible there may be a problem on the server side.

http://www.cosmologyathome.org/index.php

Can I assume this is the correct URL?

Drop the index.php part.

The URL is always without any php or htm or html suffix.
So it's http://www.cosmologyathome.org .. you can try without the end forward slash.

Oh lol, cross-editing.
tweedlidum.. I just tried a connection, the scheduler is up&running.
I doubt the database is off line as else posting here would be quite difficult.

OK -

Let's close this "ticket"! ;-)

I just got a successful attach. Maybe there was a breif glitch or reset server side. Maybe PEBKAC on my part.

Anyway, just waiting for work now.

Thx again for the reply.
