Same with all my boxes now.

The "all green" on the server status page might still be right - it just doesn't reflect that the scheduler thinks there is nothing to send out...

Nope, doesn't seem so.
Except some bits and pieces now and then - no work sent.
Not enough to keep them rigs runnin'.

Time for the backup-projects!

It still is not working for me Ageless.
Getting same message that "There is work but it was committed to other platforms", (mine is Linux) and "no work sent".

Happening on both my Linux computers now. Only one WU left.

Work is effectively shut down at this point til Scott attends to it. I see around 10-20 results going out per hour based on the server stats

Have not been able to get any work except for 1 about 2 days ago... 2 x XPPro, AMD & Intel both 1G DDR, 1 x Vista, AMD 5000+ 2x64 2G DDR... luckily I haven't committed my whole 'farm' to this project as of yet... have another 8 rigs running other projects... 2 of them dual cores...

I have no idea what happened. There were no changes to the server that I am aware of.

My best guess is that either a) participation in the project suddenly jumped or b) someone decided to run a code on the server for some reason, which messed with the scheduler.

I'm going to increase the number of WUs available at any time in the queue and I will ask Ben's group members to run codes and such on our separate computing cluster.

Hope it's not a repeat of the weekend.

Scott,

regarding: "There was work but it was committed to another platform"

It seems that you have homogenous redundancy set to on ...

Because of this, a WU (No 1 from 3), that has gone first to a linux-machine, will all WUs (No 2 and 3) of this set be forced to go to a linux machine.

So, if your computing base doesn't have a good spread over the different platforms, BOINC has to keep more and more information available (in the scheduler).

If the mentioned info is given, it says, "Hey, I don't have work available for your platform" or "I don't have enough memory to keep all information in memory". Some projects have solved with giving the machine more memory, others have switched of homogenous redundancy ...

Hope this makes it a little bit clearer

Supporting BOINC, a great concept !

Yes, I'm aware of the problems created by using HR, but we have no choice at this project, really.

However, our machine is fairly beefy, so it shouldn't be a problem for now.

LOL - "fairly beefy" - what's that in numbers?

I don't know the exact numbers (the machine has been here longer than I have), but this is what I think we have:

Dual Xeon Processors (not sure of the speed) with Tyan server motherboard
6 Gb of RAM (no idea what the type is, but I'd guess that it's DDR RAM).
Lots of disk...

Yeah... that's all I can remember. It's not like we're talking about a P4 running in our closet. =)

I get this message on a Macbook pro (Intel dual core 2.2 GHz) running OSX, but I do not get the message (and get work units) on an older Windows XP box with an old Intel 2.2 GHz processor (pre-hyperthreading)

You aren't getting anywhere near the work you could be getting from me if there is no work for my newer machine.
