I saw something new today. A couple of my WUs were finished by me and my wingman, but they're still pending. How come? That's probably also a result of the "transitioner" being down for the moment. BOINC.BE: For Belgians who love the smell of glowing red cpu's in the morning Tutta55's Lair |

I have bad feeling that there are 2 servers : an old version and a newer (test) version. When you look at the old site everthing is running in server status ,and on the newly designed site (you see half of the service s are not running). current page new page For the client point of view only half of the services are running. We don't get any new work, and the credits don't get granted. Member of BOINC.BE |

I'm on it. EDIT: It seems that some gigantic problem happens whenever I upgrade the server software. According to the logs, the transitioner daemon just... stopped working. I don't have the slightest idea why, but... there it is. I restarted all of the daemons and looked through their respective logs and everything seems to be working at this point. It may take a bit for the transitioner to work through the backlog. Sorry for the trouble. Scott Kruger Project Administrator, Cosmology@Home |

It only worked for a limited time, right now none of my computers are getting new work. |

It only worked for a limited time, right now none of my computers are getting new work. The work generation script wasn't working correctly (actually, a boinc script that I had modified earlier was over-written by the upgrade). Work is generated every hour or so, so the queue should start filling up again shortly. Scott Kruger Project Administrator, Cosmology@Home |

Multiple platforms (Windows & Linux) are receiving WUs that error out almost immediately with error -161. Yeah, I just caught this and shut down the server for a bit. It seems that essentially every new WU is doing this and I haven't the foggiest why (yet). I canceled all of the new WUs and have stopped work generation until I can figure out why this is happening. I'll keep you guys updated. Scott Kruger Project Administrator, Cosmology@Home |

It only worked for a limited time, right now none of my computers are getting new work. The script seems to fail again. The queue is down to 2600 work units. BOINC.BE: For Belgians who love the smell of glowing red cpu's in the morning Tutta55's Lair |

It only worked for a limited time, right now none of my computers are getting new work. Yeah, it reverted back to the old version when I downgraded the server software to an older version. It's good now (I'm manually making some work now too). Scott Kruger Project Administrator, Cosmology@Home |

OK the new work is there, some 16K plus. However, I was only able to download one before getting the committed to other platforms message. ![]() |

OK the new work is there, some 16K plus. Same symptoms here as well. My "general preferences" for BOINC (set here) were to connect every .25 days. Not sure (and I don't think) that's what I normally had set, but it's a global setting that applies to all BOINC projects. I reset it to 1 day, and got pretty close to my usual WU allotment. Scott might be a little gun-shy with new WU's right now. :) -jim ![]() |

I got a couple WUs tonight, but both very quickly errored out. EDIT: P.S. The affected machine is running on Win XP. |

For reference, here's the msg I'm seeing in the BOINC mgr whenever I get a WU that immediately errors out: 9/12/2007 4:06:09 AM|Cosmology@Home|[error] Can't rename output file wu_091107_190054_13_0_0 Perhaps this may assist in diagnosing the issue. Unless I have an issue that's unrelated and specific to my machine? |
