I have also been seeing the 19.06 complete downloads. If I keep them there it stops the server from sending out more work, so I just abort them.

I feel the same I can\'t stand the new site I have bad eye\'s. I was using the old site until I realized it was not being updated properly. I see no reason why this has to be, it should not be that hard to have both updated with the same info.

I need to correct one thing I brought up. The server does know I detached but , the old web page does not reflect this I just checked the new web page and I do see that it reflects accurately. I have been using the old page because I have trouble reading the new one. my bad and my bad eye\'s from now on I will use the new page and just have to put up with the not being able to see it as easily.

well the work started flowing again but looking at the wu\'s sent I see that almost all already have reported results that the server says it does not need. Also when I detached the server does not report this in my account page it still thinks I have tasks . I really have no idea what is going on. So all I can do is come back at a later date.

Good luck see you all around the bend

. Just so you can sleep Poorboy I have turned that client off for the moment so I will not be waisting server time and electricity.

I already knew that because my Lights got a little brighter when you did ... :)

Your right in that it is your business and prerogative what Project you run, but the continual if you don\'t want poor little ole me & my lonely out of work computer Drama Queen Act really doesn\'t go over well after awhile so I\'d cut that out of your repertory for now since nobody at the project is probably paying much attention anyway.

heh point taken peace

ill trying to get some work for this machine. It has been idle for almost 12 hours, if it is not needed here I wish some one would say so.

Since you seem to have a Money Tree out back by letting your Box sit Idle for 12 hours rather than Attach to another project that actually might send you some work could you cut some off that Tree and send it to me ... ???

You know (I\'m sure you do) that there are probably close to 70+ other Projects that will send work to you if you Attach to some of them rather than waste Electricity waiting for work from this really smooth running Project.

Oh, I know what it is, your just so Dedicated to this Project that you can\'t bear the thought of wasting some of your precious CPU Cycles on another Project ... LOL ... I haven\'t seen a Project started yet that deserved that kind of Dedication, especially one that has turned it\'s back on it\'s Participants like this one has ... :)

I see, LOL well I may have said a few things in here that did not go over to well. From my point of view I only said what was on many peoples minds (as far as the under qualified) comment goes. Since then , that misconception has been cleared up. I thought this project could use some extra machines being there are roughly 3500 active users, compared to other projects that is rather low, But I see that is not the case. I don\'t really have an interest in other projects atm. Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that was my business and prerogative. I already explained my committed comment else where no need to re hash that. Just so you can sleep Poorboy I have turned that client off for the moment so I will not be waisting server time and electricity. I will try again some where down the line.

Still trying to get some work for this machine. It has been idle for almost 12 hours, if it is not needed here I wish some one would say so.

Thanks for the reply. I hope this is resolved soon as this is the only project I am crunching atm I did notice before I detached the last time that the server thought I had 6 tasks that my manager and file folder did not reflect. Since then I have determined that it is not an issue on my end by totally uninstalling project and boinc manager, and re installing and re attaching to the project still the same message. I tried to upgrade to the new boinc manager but when I hit the upgrade button on the Boinc webpage it just downloaded 5.10.45 again , not sure what that is all about...

well not sure where to post this but I have been seeing this for 28 hours. I have received a few tasks but I noticed that this machine is sitting at one task at a time and has been idle a few times today for hr\'s with nothing to crunch. http://www.cosmologyathome.org/show_host_detail.php?hostid=24121 . Actually all of my machines have been seeing this message but the others do have some work all be it not much in the case of my P4 two tasks at a time. My linux box had some in que but it is also not keeping up with requests for work

I would appreciate, if somebody do something about \"unsent\" status. 80% of my WU\'s are like that.

<snip> ...and hords of people have jumped ship and are no longer crunching Cosmo wu\'s. it seems all of us who are deeply committed to this project will just have to be patient.

Commitment starts at the top. If it is lacking there then are you surprised it is lacking down below? Some of us just get tired of baby sitting this project. I like physics and cosmology and truly would like to see this project resurrect itself.

I am sorry, I should have stated that better. It was not my intention to call any one out for dropping the project. I should have said those of us still here will have to be patient. I was more or less sending a message to Ben W. to not give up on this as I for one will stick around to see what this may yield.

Again I am sorry, if there is a next time I will think about what I am saying a bit longer.

Well unfortunately I also have a similar issue but I would not expect it to be cleared up anytime soon. For one atm of this post the validater is not running, Ben Wandelt is trying to fill the proj. Admin spot, and hords of people have jumped ship and are no longer crunching Cosmo wu\'s. it seems all of us who are deeply committed to this project will just have to be patient. Your best shot is to keep crunching and perhaps you will get those unsent wu\'s next time around ^_^

Something caught my eye in this job listing \"the student will work closely with the previous project administrator. \" This line makes me think he will be sticking around ,perhaps in a some what diminished capacity, or the position will be divided between two instead of just one with the new person taking the lead. It also suggests what we all feared the person running the show up until now was under qualified. I for one hope that we get two people. even if they are both part time, two heads are normally better than one

Good luck Ben even though your project is a pain in the ass atm I will stand by it. I look forward to the day when this project leaves the alpha stage LOL

So far so good 2.15 seems to working properly on my linux box. A few of the wu\'s I have crunched have already been awarded credit. As brian pointed out it looks like the 0 credit WU\'s from 2.14 are clearing cue before the 0 credit issue can be dealt with. I can\'t remember which project it was but I do recall having some problems with credit ,and having the project award partial credit for lost time to it\'s participants hopefully this will be the case here as well(just an Idea meet us half way).

APoch, what Linux distribution are you using, and what is your CPU? I\'m beginning to suspect pretty strongly that this project doesn\'t know how to code and test a distribution-neutral Linux application. They must be assuming specific library and file structures that are not the same everywhere, as often happens with stuff developed and tested exclusively on RedHat products. That\'s the only way I can understand how you could be getting 2.15 units to run, while others of us crash with instant segmentation errors the minute the app starts.

In other words, they might be using dynamic calls to a library name that isn\'t the same in all distributions, just as an example. That will get a SIGSEGV in some but work in others. Such calls should be static linked or else check for the library name before trying to use it.

I am using Ubuntu 64 bit os ver # 8.04 on a AMD 64 bit athalon,3200.

Say, I was wondering if project staff is planning on doing anything about the wu\'s that are running for hours and then getting 0 credit, and are these credit less results worth anything to the project? so far lots of crunch time has been waisted and it \"seems\" to be only affecting my linux machine. I know I am not alone in this, as others have been posting about it as well.

Nowhere on your website does it mention the Project URL needed by BOINC to attach.

I\'m sure this is just an oversight.

the URl is \"www.cosmologyathome.org\"

You can cancel the 2.13s, they\'re no good because of a bug. New work will bring version 2.14, which works just fine so far. But is also good for a lot less credit [per hour], in case you care about that.

According to the application list, there is no 2.14 for Linux. This is starting to look pretty ridiculous. If all 2.13 work units are no good, why can\'t the admins just take them all out of the database instead of wasting so much time on letting them all fail?

There is now 2.14 for linux 64 amd. I have run 2.13 on linux 64 for amd with out having failed wu\'s as far as I can tell things have been running smoothly since the no work sent messages that plagued me a few days ago.

I crunch cosmo because I have an interest in what the universe looks like and what our future may be. I am in construction, not a tech savvy job at all I build computers as a hobby mainly old ones that people throw away for whatever reason. I fix them and give them new life! whenever I find anything that looks usable in the trash I use it, if it has any life left in it ,I believe there is far to much waist out there and I would like to keep it all from cluttering up my beautiful natural world. I am actually negative tech in many ways but I see the good in most of it I just think it is abused to often and waisted on trivial pursuits as well as traded in or trashed before it\'s usable life span is up. at the moment my main interest in distributed computing lies in astronomy.

I will see you in the woods , no really I will SEE YOU ^_^
