Unless the interval has changed for some reason instead of every 6 hours.

Well, no, that wouldn\'t explain the discrepancy in the timestamps. I\'m saying the last changed files at that time were at 1am CDT according to my stats update, but the timestamps on the files themselves were 5am CDT. Either the server time was wrong OR the files were updated but the last_update_time was not being set, which is what I check inside tables.xml to see whether I should download the entire set..

I think it may have updated once, but doesn\'t appear to be updating now..

Also. is the clock correct actually correct on the server ? The xml files have a timestamp of 5am this morning. The Free-DC server last updated the stats at 1.51am CDT (which I presume the server is also on) ?

They seemed to have an update at 3am today, but the timestamp at least in tables.xml was the same as the last updated prior to the crash...

  • The Matter Myth by Paul Davies and John Gribbon.
  • The Hour of Our Delight by Hubert Reeves.

Both of these are slightly outdated but well worth the read.

Can't say I've read The Matter Myth, but Paul Davies was actually my first year Professor doing Quantum Mechanics back in '89 at Newcastle University. He moved to Australia after that. Was a very good teacher... I've read a cople of his earlier books.

Is this debug that was left in the shipped code?
I was a little concerned also over the folder name as well - it's not on MY PC!

They look fine.

I've added the stats to Free-DC here

http://stats.free-dc.org/new/projpage.php?proj=cos

After a day or two the averages will work themselves out as well as the ranks and such..

Thanks

personally I like every 6 hours which shouldn't be too taxing for all but the VERY large projects out there... :)

Personally, the more information the better in my opinion, so I'd love to read more about the project's aims and aspirations.

I also enjoy seeing project administrators interact with the community.

I have some background in astronomy and astrophysics, so it's always good to catch up somewhat.
