People will just have to contact the server to fix it.

After contacting the server I still have a 0KB camb_2.13_windows_intelx86.exe file. I deleted the 0KB file but boinc just downloaded yet another 0KB file

Hi Poorboy,

[comencing_prattle]

Could\'nt help noticing you\'ve added a bit of your own as well :) Seriously though Seejays belief that the validator was screwed again certainly qualifies as an urgent problem, not that the project admin is likly to ever read this thread.

How come the SERVER STATUS liar says that there are only 2 results waiting for validation, when I\'ve got 59 (just counted) myself??? Wot\'s goin\' on?? 0+0

Hi Seejay,

I just took a quick look at your pending wu\'s. As far as I can see non have made quorum yet. The server status only lists pending wu\'s that have made quorum and for some reason are still awaiting validation. You also have one in the checked but no concensus yet state.

WU\'s waiting for validation now stand at 38,076 ( a rise of 17,000 in the last 20 hrs.) also \" can\'t attach shared memory \" errors are increasing. As it\'s obvious that the problem is getting worse and will not not just go away, maybe somebody should take a look at it.

If the DC community puts up with this, then that\'s all we\'re going to get.
...

Are you kidding?

If you haven\'t noticed, this project way over grants credit. Personally I don\'t care if they do or don\'t, but all the \"credit whores\" flock to projects like this one and don\'t care so much about the problems as long as they eventually get their over-inflated credits.

You really don,t have a clue do you? I\'m one of those you so disrespectfully call a \"Credit Whore\". Participating in DC projects purely for competitive reasons is nothing to be ashamed of. Having said that, \"Over-inflated credits\" or not, I\'ll waste no more of my time on any project where the admin shows this level of disregard for it\'s participants.

Results ready to send 56,985, server status all green.

?

Im Getting the same on all my hosts but according to the status page the results ready to send continues to rise (57,392).

It might help if the project staff would keep at least one eye on things instead of once a week posting a short hooray for us we fixed it again on the front page and then disappearing again while everything falls to pieces. And do they even look at the posts on the forum, I very much doubt it or they would have a far better grasp of exactly how bad things are.

Would sombody please look into the continuing problems at cosmo. There has been little or no improvement since monday and wu\'s are becoming increasingly hard to download.

A quick look at the last 2 days posts in the Urgent Problems Discussion thread will give you some idea of the situation.

I\'m sure glad I\'m not the admin of a BOINC project. It seems that people expect you to be on call 24/7 and if you don\'t tell complete strangers you\'ll be out of town for a few days and disconnected from the project, they get their panties in a bind. I guess admin\'s can\'t have any other bit of life outside the project or \'forget\' about the project for a few days.

Nobody has sugested 24/7 monitoring of the project but some people donate a lot of time and expense to the project. In return it\'s hardly too much to expect someone to look in at least every couple of days. Being away from the project is no excuse as it takes only two minuets to check out the forums from anywhere in the world.

I suspect the reason for that is because many users have realised that Cosmo is a dead duck and abandoned it for projects with admins who have a bit more respect for their contributors, thus lightening the load on the servers.

For the current time 30-40 is a good value.

Cosmo\'s user base probably includes a percentage of competitive crunchers to whom credit is important if not the prime motive(myself included, which in no way devalues my contribution.)A reduction to 30-40 would likley cause the same situation that occured at milky way. cosmo has always been a high paying project why look for reasons to change that at this late stage. 80 is low enough.
