First off, let me assure everybody that I am reading my PMs, but there are so many that it\'s difficult to get through them all quickly.

So it seems I\'ve dug a hole for myself at this point. Since there were something like 50,000 results in progress as the time of the server problems, I had to use a PHP script to grant credits, one that I\'ve used before and seemed to work great the last time. However, the script seems to have faltered due to the extarordinary amount of results in the database and the sheer volume of credit. Some people got too much credit while others received too little and others got none at all.

While I want to make everything right, I realize that each time I manually intervene with credits and such, the situation gets better for a few, but overall, things get a bit worse (it\'s like the 2nd law of thermodynamics, I guess; I can improve things locally, but in the big picture, things steadily get more and more mucked up).

At this point, the \"cleanest\" solution would be to nuke the database and start from scratch, but that\'s a little extreme and you all would probably burn me at the stake. =)

Therefore, everybody who has PMed me at this point will have credit granted to them. After that, however, I will not be manually granting anybody any more credit that they lost during the \"Great Server Fiasco of 2008\". After a while, the credit situation should return to the status quo and we all can put this behind us.

I haven\'t seen any evidence of the \'generous\' bonus credits being handed to anyone. Looking at my own Task List page I see:

- Tasks that are marked \"Didn\'t need\" indicating a Server initiated abort have Granted credit of 100 in the Task record but not fed through to my Task list page or my totals.

- Tasks that are marked \"Client detached\" indicating a Client initiated abort have Granted credit of 100 in the Task record but not fed through to my Task list page or my totals.

I have looked at a number of different hosts today and none had a jump of 10000 credits yesterday as I would expect if this had all happened as has been described. So, did anyone see any of these unearned credits? If not, then we still have a (relatively) level playing field.

Oh - and one other thing - I have just counted up the number of \"Completed\" WU\'s on my Tasks screens = 76; my account is showing Total Credit of only 7000 so the credit for 6 WU\'s seems to have gone missing between the 2 screens. Is is a coincidence that there were probably 6 WU\'s that were only \"Pending\" when the credit was granted; could it be the lack of full validation that is causing them not to register on my account total??

Sorry for the long post but I am trying to understand what has really happened here as opposed to what was intended.

\'client detached\' I assume was a result of trying to reattach to the new URL\'s (some confusion on my part as to which was the \'right\' one to change to)...
what is \'didn\'t need\'??

Since the credit was applied outside of the validator by a script it shows up nowhere except in the totals ...if you notice your rac hasn\'t changed either.There is no bonus...credit granted was for everything in the work queues and in pending of each user.There was a problem when the script was run but impossible to really fix because all the old work has been deleted from the database.

Well, bottom line I lost my \'pending credit\' of ~100 WU\'s that was sitting there prior to the snafu... my COSMO totals have changed little in the last day or so as seen in my account or the web stats totals... OUCH!
