Today I have released Dotsch/UX 1.0. - Dotsch/UX is a Linux distribution for BOINC which easily installs and boot from a USB stick, hard disk and from diskless clients and also has some interfaces to setup the diskless server and the clients automatically.

4) We now have access to Macintosh hardware, so a (long overdue) Mac app should be on it\'s way.

Feel free to contact me, if you have some questions or problems about the MacOS porting.
Do you plan to build a PPC and Intel application ? - It\'s quite easy to cross compile on MacOS Intel to PPC and vice versa.

Ups, sorry meaned 0 seconds CPU time.
In the moment the first WU is at about 40 %. The cosmology application works with CPU throtteling in CrossOver without any problems.

The first result was validated successfully. Runtime 0 seconds CPU time, clamied 0 credit, granted 50 credits.

I\'ve written a howto for using the Windows BOINC client and a Windows science application within CrossOver on MacOS Intel without any great loss of performance. The tests at LHC shows, that is work with aceptable performance, but not as fast as a native application.
The howto is avialable at www.dotsch.de/boinc under the BOINC howto section.

Primarly it works with the Cosmology Application, except the CPU time measuring. Is this relevant ? - Am I right that the project uses fixed credits, and it is not neccesary, that the CPU time would be reported with 0 % ?

It might be interesting to have a page like this: http://boinc.gorlaeus.net/sharedmemory.php. Ageless, do you think Mark Somers would be willing to share that page?

I think that Mark would be happy help you to implement the shared memory page here. He also helped docking@home to implement this on there servers.
I recommend you to ask him via mail or the posting function at the Leiden forums. - If you need his mail address, please put a PM to me.

Someone has to do it, might as well be me.

So, when do we get OSX applications? Please?

This request will be a bit more difficult than the others, since I don't have the requisite hardware yet. I'll work on it, though.

I am very interested to help you to port MacOS applications.
