It has now been 3 days. Has any discovery been made? Any estimate as to the time when the project might be back up and at least functioning in a \"test\" state like what we were in before?

Looks like they may be rewriting the whole code or at least doing a complete overhaul! This may be a GOOD thing! I hope so.

If credits have been granted, it is not necessarily visible in the result status. It is possible to grant credits to the user accounts without beeing visible in the results list.

CPDN does that all the time with the standalone subprojects like Beta and Seasonal Attribution, their credits go into the main project even though the results are not visible there.

I have received quite many credits today, not as many as I would have expected from the pending list, but still more than usual.

This is exactly the reason I only left 1 old box on this project,... They \"burned\" me last time and I really didn\'t want it to happen again! While I do believe in the science, I won\'t be \"burned\" for even 1 more wu.!

And no credits were given this time either.

I had 46 pending units - some dated back to July
All gone with remark \"Over Didn\'t need Done\"
???

I only had 4wu\'s pending,... same thing. I thought test wu\'s were supposed to be GUARANTEED credits if we ran them!?

No Work: (There was work but it was commited to other platforms... Is anyone looking into this issue? It\'s been an ongoing problem/issue. Will the Person who is in charge please step up to the plate and start swinging the bat... :)

lllvette, I know that you know your way around BOINC so don\'t get pixx\'ed! but u do have u\'r preferences set to \"run test wu\'s\" right?

Guess what?

The option to allow test workunits appeared! =)

With thanks to Scott for making the necessary changes. A simple line he forgot to add to an .inc file.

In the mean time we\'re still using HR, more coarse on the test tasks than on the normal tasks, but it still needing to be available for your platform. My AMD did get work earlier (normal 2.15), my Intel has been dry all the time.

We\'ll probably have to wait until the top of the queue is done. I wouldn\'t be surprised if those are still old tasks with the old credit.

Even with test apps. enabled I\'m still getting the \"committed to other platforms message\" BTW,...This is on a windoz 64bit os

Well, apparently I\'m blind because I don\'t see where I have an option to \"enable test work\". Where is this option?

I wondered too and did some searching. Based on this thread:
http://www.cosmologyathome.org/forum_thread.php?id=136&nowrap=true#1810

it apparently shows up in the \"Resource share and graphics / Cosmology@Home preferences\" section once a variable is set on the server. That variable doesn\'t seem to be set yet. That\'s my guess, anyway.

Just finished looking for it myself and checked another project, that is where it should be under cosmo preferences.

This is actually an edit but I just got 1 of the 2.15 wu\'s! Hopefully it validates and once it does I\'ll be 100% cosmo again! I hope you guys did your job right this time! Best of Luck!!

I understand the frustration however maybe they don\'t know all the specifics of everything and rather than give false info, all they can say is changes are forthcoming. I actually don\'t mind, it\'s more hope than I had yesterday!! Hope the announcement comes soon guys!

Well I put 1 box back on over here yesterday to see if I could get a wu, run it and get it to validate. surprise, all went smooth but now I cant get another wu even though there\'s plenty to be had. You still got some work to do Ben. Scott didn\'t have everything working, huh?

So after a week of failed downloads for version 2.14, I was startled this morning when I saw CAMB 2.15 being downloaded by a Linux x86 machine. Since the home page claims that Linux app problems have been \"fixed\" but gives no details, I had hope. It downloaded successfully.

But, when it started to run it failed in 1 second with \"received signal 11\" which is a segmentation fault or memory reference error. Normally this is a sign of application coding errors such as missing address references or uninitialized pointers. So much for testing, eh?

As long as they fail @ 1 sec I don\'t mind, when they run to completion and won\'t download.... thats when I have a problem! We\'ll see how they do on windoze 64.

Finally picked up a camb 2.14 on my slowest box(266g p4) and immediately got a message that I couldn\'t get another wu because it was \"committed to other platforms\"? And my Quad(Intel(R) Xeon CPU 3.00GHz) has been \"kicking the client\" for over a day with no results. And since that box is halfway across the country I have no idea what the log file is on it, just that it has no work.

Got the same thing goin on here, new wu\'s buried way back in my tasks. Is there a reason why they\'re not at the top of the list anymore?
If I\'m not mistaken I believe it has something to do with the Task ID #, the Wu or Wu\'s are just taking their place in line with the Task ID #\'s of the other Tasks I think, or something like that anyway hehe ... :)
Sounds like as good an EXCUSE as any. Now if someone could just keep an eye on the project on the weekends! ;)

Have any of you guys checked in your Account to see if the Wu\'s on you Computers are in your Account too. I\'ve received and returned Wu\'s today but don\'t see them in my Account anywhere ... ???

PS: Never mind, I found them finally, I had to go back about 20 Pages & they showed up. Normally their right at the head of your Results or Computer Task listings but these were buried deep.

Mine all appear to be in both places.

But I do think they could get rid of some of the completed/validated WUs that are still clogging up the DB.

actually Jeff this is what Scott said about the difference between old and new sites.....

The old page can\'t see the pid files for the daemons, but it can read the database correctly.

thought you might like to know.

Well I see we\'re starting to get some green back on the status board. Probably a good idea to keep the feeder off until the problem is fixed with the validation issue. Hope it works now.

Edit: so far so good, I see the #\'s starting to drop. keep up the good work!

Very mysterious!

New page design: Status all green (\"Running\")

Old page design: Status most red (\"Not Running\")

That has a very easy explanation, just look at the link you\'re on.
The old web-pages run cached through the test site. There needs to be nothing running than the web pages as that\'s the only thing that is on there.

OK, so the old server stats is NOT the one to watch, just the one on the new page? And if so and all IS green, any Idea on why the validator is still losing ground?
