Is it possible to add more checkpoints?

On my laptop with C2D T8300 2.4 GHz it takes more than 3 hours before a new checkpoint is being written.
On my C2D E6750 2.6GHz running at 3400 MHz it takes 1.5-2 hours or even longer before a new checkpoint is being written.
I can check this with the Efmer BOINCtasks manager.

I'm having the same problem:

Database Error

As you can see I need to update my signature as BOINCstats changed the url's for the signatures.

OK, but my totals did not get updated for that 100. That happened for any and all results of mine that were marked \"didn\'t need\" where Granted Credit > 0. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I did a detach/reattach sequence. I do not know if that played a part in it or not.

I have PM\'d Scott, but unless you have information directly from him, I would suggest that it might behoove you to not jump to conclusions that people are angry when they are not. In fact, your jumping into this thread has only so far caused me to have mild frustration over something that initially hadn\'t bothered me in the slightest...

I understand that you don\'t want people \"beating up on Scott\". I saw several posts that were like that. You need to be careful that you don\'t lump any and all discussion into a categorization of \"bashing\", which is what it appears you have already started doing...

IMO, YMMV, etc, etc, etc...

Mr.Silvers it is you who is jumping to conclusions...please DO NOT put words into my mouth that weren\'t said or inferred. I am trying to explain what happened as being informational if you take it as being anything else so be it.

Have to agree with JRenkar here. The project admin(s) have done erverything they can yesterday trying to solve the problem while still being informative to it\'s participants on current issues and trying to please most people credit-wise on (in)completed WU\'s. It didn\'t completely turn out ok afterwards but what I read mostly here is people saying they don\'t care about credit but they are complaining about it. If someone didn\'t care about something, they would also \'not complain\' about it. I was kinda called a credit hound on another alpha project where the admins asked a question about credit. I replied with an answer which has been moderated (and deleted) by an admin while he gave me the reason that I was right but he\'d deleted my message and the message I replied too (hopefully doesn\'t happen here but also don\'t post if you don\'t like suggestions, even if they seem/are not so smart).

2 of your systems received WU\'s. My 2 systems also received WU\'s so I\'m also crunching Cosmo again. As I don\'t know how fast WU\'s can be generated and how much are already generated, I can\'t say if everyone will immediately get work.

They\'ve all been awarded credit. Including all WU\'s in your possession, crunched or not.

You\'ve ran other projects. Can\'t you attach your machines to those until the problem is solved.

I am seeing a Server status page that is refreshing itself every second.

I lost some WU\'s but now I get:

Host Project Date Message
Q2 Cosmology@Home 24-1-2008 21:46:12 Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 1 completed tasks
Q2 Cosmology@Home 24-1-2008 21:46:17 Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks
Q2 Cosmology@Home 24-1-2008 21:46:17 Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance

I got this 10 minutes earlier:
Jan/24/2008 21:34:46|Cosmology@Home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
Jan/24/2008 21:35:08||Project communication failed: attempting access to reference site
Jan/24/2008 21:35:12|Cosmology@Home|Scheduler request failed: Couldn\'t connect to server
Jan/24/2008 21:35:40||Access to reference site succeeded - project servers may be temporarily down.

I got this 4 minutes later than you:
Jan/24/2008 21:50:09|Cosmology@Home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
Jan/24/2008 21:50:14|Cosmology@Home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks
Jan/24/2008 21:50:19|Cosmology@Home|Computation for task wu_011408_194750_0_1 finished
Jan/24/2008 21:50:24|Cosmology@Home|Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks. Requesting 0 seconds of work, reporting 35 completed tasks
Jan/24/2008 21:50:29|Cosmology@Home|Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks

Now we just have to wait until new WU\'s are generated and ready to be sent out, I guess.

BTW if you look at your credits you must see an increase.

Does that mean my machine has been working for no good? Has the project both been refusing to receive my work and rejecting work that has been done?

Or what is going on?

If you read this thread you\'ll see that there were some problems while changing the projects url. This (in that same thread) is Scott\'s solution to the problem. You\'ll see you\'ve got awarded credit for all WU\'s in your possession, crunched or not.

Short story: I\'m cancelling every WU and granting every \"in progress\", \"error\", or \"successful\" result credit.

Long story: the old URL is associated with every WU that was released in the 2.04 era, so I have to clear out *all* of them in order for the new results. People are going to get a gigantic amount of credit when this is all done, and I will be making a bunch of new WUs for crunching and things should *finally* be back to normal.

This is the reason Scott gave earlier in this thread. There were problems while changing the projects url. Hopefully that will solve all. I still got 3 WU\'s pending though, but that was also already mentioned by Fred a couple of posts earlier.

Anthony, it may be reporting OK but it looks like all your results files are failing to upload so there will be nothing for the validator to check and eventually it will fail validation.
Dave.

Hmmm...
Don\'t want to crunch for nothing, so maybe it\'s better to suspend the project for a couple of days.

Congratz all.

Passed 25000 (last month, after almost 2 years of no crunching) and 50000 (last week) on BOINC total. And already over 60000. Will break \'Rank 100000\' barrier in a couple of days.

Passed 10000 on Cosmology after joining 2 and a half weeks ago.

Passed 5000 on Einstein 10 days ago.

Passed 25000 on SETI over a month ago and will pass 50000 within a week.

:)
