Just Love Alpha, The adventure of it all. Have been not aborting all w/u, most times let them run for 2 1/2 hours {just in case } Then Abort.I could not imagine the pain of it all for the farmers, again "W2G"

Just finished plowing through the farm.
Following Mr. Pernods guidance .. only workunits affected are wu_072007_13* through to wu_072007_19*

I have not received any of the 721 wu's yet.



Dont know if w/u differs in Windows, and Linux , but, I got one of the

actually Doug, that link takes the user to his OWN pending credit, not yours.
we can't see the pending credits or result-lists of other users, only their computers IF they unhide them ;-)

OK, I cannot imagine the "nightmare" for the pharmers.With one Box, found it hard to wake up every couple hours to check which w/u are good, and, which are wrong.
Again, I reiterate, W2G mutiple boxers :) And it isnot all that bad at all 4 me,

All of the bad WUs were created from 1-7 PM today. Anything from 8 PM after is OK.



Bad example ;) If you don´t have to mutch hosts or WUs on your host, you can look in your resultpage if there is a succesful result for this WU befor aborting it.
I posted JRenkar´s version to deal with the problem in the setigermany forums, too. Hoping the problem is solved in near future.


{wu_072007_1xxxxx series and crunch the _072007_2xxxxx} This is one im crunching now, will hope the check point works, had to make for sure having only 1 pc, w2g mutiple box testers for this valuable info.

Yes, this alpha experiment is doing well compared to others we have crunched.I am right with Jrenker, and others{ we are testers Not here for credits.Overnight pc crunched for 14 hours, and received this also.Have gotten through 3 hours of a new one.Hope the checkpoints are in place.{Fri 20 Jul 2007 09:46:26 PM EDT|Cosmology@Home|Aborting task wu_072007_141326_0_0: exceeded disk limit: 100.24MB > 95.37MB}
for each w/u that oborted itself.Happy I dont have to configure anything on this end, cause, I dont know how, lol. ;)
Thx scott for fixing the issue, ehaa BIG w/u. Also nice too see that others are getting completed w/u after scott fixed the problem, thx to the testers that posted here, that helped scott with the space problem. :)

I haven't seen it lately.... on none of my hosts...

I'm getting it on both of my Linux boxes that are attached to the project. They're running BOINC 5.8.15 and .16.

1 linux box using 5.8.16, also, having difficulty to get my w/u validated, back too the 12th of July.No Biggy, has occured before, I also understand Scott has an enormous Job here, and this is a relatively small issue.Here is the w/u,s that are still awaiting validation.Have seached other users w/u, and see most of theres have been validated.http://cosmos.astro.uiuc.edu/cosmohome/results.php?userid=123

Wow....then only half or less of any my machines or cpu's are allowed to contribute to this project by that standard.

Sysfried and many others are extremely knowledgeable and have been involved in the BOINC community for years. I have learned much by reading their posts in the forums.

Personally....I try to apply the best hardware I can to the projects I believe in.
Hence...crunchin as much data a possible giving the admins and scientists the data they need.

I would like to believe that I am 'doing something' .....Is that not why we crunch? The stats are entertaining as well.

Surely Scott will be on task next week and production will resume....meanwhile Einstiens are crackin away....and soon some of the elusive LHC's might find their way across the pond.


Definitly agree there,
Scott, other site organisers , and testers, have made Cosmology at home, the best alpha project I have ever crunched.Within hours of problems, all is fixed.
Have also learned planty from ev1 and can wait patiently for work too resume.
Malaria and Rosey get the extra time 4 now, but, as soon as que is full of Cosmo w/u 24-7 all the way.Coodos too Scott, Testers and all staff.

As for Ubuntu. I probably would have been less frustrated over the weekend if I had booted into Linux. I spent more hours than I should have over the weekend swearing at MS Visual Studio.
