Greetings,
I have lost several C@H tasks after stopping the Project in BoincTasks, then stopping the Boinc Manager, then saving the VM machine (Machine/Close/Save State).
Is the proper shutdown/ restart procedure documented anywhere?
Thanks for the help!

In general, I think the answer is "no". The work units are so short, that they purposely do not try to create check points. But since you are on Windows, you could try hibernation. It might work.

Indeed, we don't currently do checkpointing, instead the jobs are just kept very short so losing one keeps the wasted computing resources to a minimum (and on our end, there's absolutely no scientific loss from losing any one particular job). That said, its definitely on the wishlist and I imagine we'll have it at some point.

Good news:
On a Windows 10 desktop PC, both Sleep and Hibernate correctly save a VM task so that it resumes when the PC is restarted.
Thanks to Jim1348 for suggesting this process.

I'd like to see this procedure 'recommended' in the texts that new C@H users are directed to read. It will make running C@H VM tasks much less frustrating, and eliminate wasted PC time and power on tasks that are aborted.

Thanks again!
