Is it easy or even feasible to use MPI or equivalent so that all my home computers can run shared jobs in BOINC/Cosmo? Does it make sense to do so outside of my pure academic interest in doing it?

Thanks.

I don't think that would work. Our jobs can use multiple cores on a given computer, but otherwise they have no knowledge of MPI or ability to use it to parallelize further. I don't think it would be that much more efficient use either as compared to just running multiple jobs concurrently on all the machines.
