Hello there,
I installed BOINC+VirtualBox. Before I just had BOINC installed. Then Cosmology@home worked most of the time, with the legacy function. Now with VirtualBox installed Cosmology@home says: Waiting for network access. It just doens't continue working on tasks nevertheless a small amount of each task is allready done. When opting using VirtualBox for the Cosmology@home project, is it enough to just install VirtualBox or does it need more actions after installing to work on projects?
Would appreciate help on this question, because I really want to contribute to this project.
Thanks in advance!

I think the problem might be that your computer is not connected to the internet or perhaps you've disabled network access in your BOINC preferences? The Virtualbox jobs may need to occasionally connect to the Docker servers (Docker is what is used to run the jobs inside the VMs), hence the jobs are marked as needing network access and won't run otherwise.

Why does the the science application need to connect to the server during computation?
Does the Planck science application require the same network access conditions?

Not just to upload and report at the completion of the task.

camb2docker 2.04 appears to postpone work for failing to enter an online state.

see thread http://www.cosmologyathome.org/forum_thread.php?id=7473&postid=21374

running 4 CPUS and it's saying it's timeing out after waiting for 24 hours (86400.000) sec.

Block access via the hosts file if you want to stop uploads for the pentathlon. Only the vbox apps require networking to be on to compute.

Window 10 Machines might need to use a 5.1.xx version of Virtual Box.

I tried the VBox 5.0.18 that was bundled with BOINC 7.6.33 and was getting VM postposed work at ~47% with network access avalable.

Upgraded from Virtual Box website to 5.1.18 to match the Vbox version currently available with BOINC development.

Now computing and returning work as one would expect.

No special settings or anything to get it to run.
