I suggest to make the boinc2docker tasks longer.
It takes 10 min for my computer to finish one.(not the fastest one)
The startup of the tasks takes 1 min or so.
For very fast computers, the waste of startup time is significant.
The startup time would remain somewhat constant, but when doubleing the task length, the efficiency would be much improved.

Would that be possible?

Thanks, yea, a valid complaint and something I'd like to do. Before that we need to re-enable checkpointing and it needs a bit more testing, but we should be able to get to it as soon as we finish up with understanding and writing up the Planck results.

I support the suggestion of Rasputin42 to considerably increase the runtime of boinc2docker tasks.
Are there any disadvantages, e.g. much higher RAM requirements?

At the moment, there is no check-pointing. So if you reboot or exit BOINC, you lose whatever time you have done on the work unit. That favors short work units, but check-pointing will allow longer ones.

I would like to renew my request from a while ago.
