Today my BOINC client tried to download new tasks, however, seven of the eight failed with a "file not found" message. I then get a response saying that the daily quota of 8 results has been reached. A couple days ago the quota was 24 so I am not sure why it is 8 today and also why 7 out of 8 failed to be found.

This is a problem with the server side of the project. There is nothing you can do from your side to correct the issue. All you can do is keep aborting transfer on the tasks until you get some.

This issue is posted many times in many different ways of wording on the forums. Jobs not downloading is one...errors and white screen another... can't download another... I wish someone would make a sticky, as clearly the project isn't going to fix this any time soon (it's been over a year now since this first started happening)...

Thanks for the reply. The file not found issue I can live with. The daily quota is what is preventing my system from getting more units. I have one task running now and 7 other cores that could be doing something as well if I could get work for them. A few days ago, I had as many as 12-15 tasks from Cosmology at once. Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Yes, unfortunately the same process that is used to protect a project from a system returning bad results ends up causing that. When you have an error task, it reduces your quota by a certain amount. Returning good results will increase the quota faster than the error results dropped it.

I am completely unable to download the camb_2.16 application under linux.
The download stops partway through, and there doesn't seem to be any way to force it to complete downloading.
All I can do is detach and reattach, or reset the project, neither of which make the application download completely next time, and all it ends up doing is wasting my internet allowance and ruining work units.

I eventually got Cosmology working under Linux by copying the camb_2.16 application across from another computer that was already attached.
I never did succeed in downloading the needed file on my machine, despite trying many times!
