...and all (along with all inactive users) got the 5000 credits that was supposed to be for active users only... Nice!

Oh! And bye.

Maybe I should explain my position just in case a Project Admin happens to stumble on this thread and actually reads it.

It takes a lot to piss me off, this drop seemingly filled the cup. I don't do projects for credits, but it is the only public measurement we have on how much work we have done (for each project, combined stats are a joke), so blindingly giving everyone a huge amount of free credit is not fair to those who stayed with the project during many kinds of problems. IMHO if you wanted to show some appreciation to those who had stayed with the project during the last row of problems, you could have given a small token, like maybe 50-100 credits for each HOST (not USER) that was attached to the project for the last month or so and was active. That would also be more fair to those who have (had?) many computers attached (not me).

Though I really, really like the goal of this project, finding the model that best describes our universe (personally I think we're just virus's, bacteria or germs living on the molecules in the body of an entity (Dog?;), did you try that model yet?;), I have now detached. Keep giving out free credits and you'll get lot of users... but will any science be done?

BTW: If you want and can figure out how, you can take my 300000 credits and distribute it to the little less than 3000 users that according to BoincStats was active on April 27th... that should give everyone of those a little more than 100 credits...

Here's the deal:

All of the times in the past that a script like this was run, the script messed things up...

I warned Anshul of this very thing... No "free" credit should've been awarded. Instead, problems that exist need to be fixed.

This wasn't an intentional thing, but just another mishap in a long line of mishaps...
