A BUNCH of people are seeing:

Having watched it for a few minutes it seems to be getting to 95% complete and then dropping back to 60%.

Well, since nobody has posted this issue to this thread, for the past 6 hours or so, all scheduler contacts have resulted in the following:

3/15/2008 12:59:23 AM|Cosmology@Home|Sending scheduler request: Requested by user
3/15/2008 12:59:23 AM|Cosmology@Home|Requesting 144590 seconds of new work, and reporting 1 completed tasks
3/15/2008 12:59:28 AM|Cosmology@Home|Scheduler RPC succeeded
3/15/2008 12:59:28 AM|Cosmology@Home|Message from server: Server error: can\'t attach shared memory
3/15/2008 12:59:28 AM|Cosmology@Home|Deferring communication for 1 hr 0 min 0 sec
3/15/2008 12:59:28 AM|Cosmology@Home|Reason: project is down

Since no work can be sent, and tasks cannot be reported, the project is dead in the water...

100% failure rate for all volunteers, can someone give the server a kick in the guts (reboot) please?

PS: I just set your office on fire.

My guess is someone tripped over the power cord on the way out
of the office on Friday afternoon. The entire staff appears to be
otherwise occupied this St Patty\'s weekend. Speculation? See here:

My farm is dead in the water and this will give me an opportunity to
pull some bios upgrades and other tweeks to my marginal crunchers.

In lieu of any word from the project admins, make the best of this
down time. Tune your rigs, crunch your alternate projects, or upgrade
your hardware.

Kick the Feeder (and several other programs)- Status is Not Running, and WUs will not report.

That\'s done \'by design\'. See this thread and the news which says:
March 18, 2008

Project Temporarily Suspended
We are suspending WU generation until the \"Rombint\" errors are solved and a new generator is up and running.

Your steps seem to be out of order:
- you didn\'t send \"kill\" to all unfinished WUs in outside world but
- you wrote \"didn\'t need\" to such units.
Result: I find that my WU is not needed only after finishing it.

- In announcement you advise to check a new client is used.
- How do I find it if the version No. didn\'t change.
- Should I kill every new WU downloaded after your announcement? Till when?
- I aborted a newly downloaded WU. This unit was immediately shipped to two more \"happy crunchers\".

I am putting HALT on this project.

I did receive that on my first contact to Cosmology this morning. All old workunits went into an error status (I think it was -212 or so).

Don\'t forget that it\'s always the BOINC client that contacts the project, the project has no chance to contact the BOINC client actively.

That\'s why I started this thread. The announcement is not about downloading a new BOINC client, it is ment to say \"Make your BOINC client contact the project server\"

p.s.: I don\'t think that there was any other way how the project could have handled the cancelling of old results.

I cannot agree. I finished a WU this morning and pressed Update. I received 0.00 and \"Not needed\" even if 2nd WU was in Pending status already.

Does it mean that WUs marked CAMB 2.12 are healthy from now on?

That\'s how I understood the situation, yes. The known problems should be gone with the new WU series, so we can start tracking down the unknown ones - if any ;-)

Warning
New WUs are 3 - 5 times shorter than previous ones. This is good for credit hunters but I am not sure whether is it good for the project. Further there is substantial increase in WUs where quorum of 2 tasks is not enough to decide which one is correct.

It reminds me the situation in Einstein project approx. 1 year ago when thanks to optimisation the calculation shortened to the extent where servers were unable to deal with flood of finished WUs.
