Post here if there is an urgent problem that needs to be brought to my attention. Generally, if it's affecting many users' ability to crunch, then it's post-worthy.

DO NOT POST HERE IF YOU HAVE NOT CHECKED THE ANNOUNCEMENTS THREAD.

DO NOT POST HERE IF THE PROBLEM IS LIMITED TO ONLY YOU.

DO NOT POST DISCUSSION OF URGENT PROBLEMS IN HERE. POST THEM IN THE URGENT PROBLEMS DISCUSSION THREAD INSTEAD.

Appropriate things to post:
-Greater than 90% of my results are invalid.
-I can't communicate with the server even though there haven't been any posts about downtime.
-There is a post on the forum that severely violates the rules.
-I was walking around the UIUC campus and I happened to notice that your office is on fire.

Inappropriate things to post:
-One of my results was invalidated.
-The server is down, but I haven't checked the announcements thread to see if that's the way it's supposed to be.
-Somebody was mean to me on the forums.
-I just set your office on fire. Take THAT, Cosmo-TYRANT!

Scott, my AMD Turion X64 has stacks and stacks of WU's which have simply gone into pending, apparently not being sent to another host, and with the new work units I do not want to be left stranded with all that work being for nothing.

I have posted similar in "flying solo" thread.

Thanks

PS: I started counting how many were in pending, and gave up when I got over 600 !!

Can you please address this.

We don't seem to be getting work even though the server status says there is work. Can you check this out. It has been discussed in these two threads "Host Limit @ 25 Now ... !!!" & "No New Work- All Platforms?"

Thanks

Scott, please hav a look at this:

I just had one too:

7/20/2007 23:46:57|Cosmology@Home|Aborting task wu_072007_140309_1_1: exceeded disk limit: 95.39MB > 95.37MB
7/20/2007 23:46:57|Cosmology@Home|Deferring communication for 1 min 0 sec
7/20/2007 23:46:57|Cosmology@Home|Reason: Unrecoverable error for result wu_072007_140309_1_1 (Maximum disk usage exceeded)

Now my max. disk usage was set to 10GB on a 250GB disk. I am pretty sure this error has nothing to do with the general preferences setting, but rather with a limitation set on the WU itself (in the template) when it was created. I have now increased my max. disk usage to 100GB, but I think that won't make a difference. Something for Scott to check out. But first, have a smashing good time at the wedding party, Scott!

EDIT: Yup, this is a confirm. If you look in the init_data.xml in one of the WU's slots you can see <rsc_disk_bound>100000000.000000</rsc_disk_bound> That is about the 95MB limit which is exceeded. Chances are that most WU will error out until this is fixed. /me putting work fetch on hold for now.

Scott, any info on solo hosts problem would be cool.... with over 1000 WU's sitting pending for my laptop at 13 plus minutes per WU, I dont like to have wasted all that time if possible,

Thanks

This problem appears to be getting worse. I have gotten several hundred "no work from project" / "no work for this platform" messages across 6 different platforms in the last 12 hours, leaving several machines without work for several hours at a time.
PS- 22,xxx WUs ready to send while this is happening.

So far I have collected 60 pending results with 1.26 and 1.27.
At least 1 WU has gotten 0 credits because of "Too many successful results".
As far as I can tell no WU has validated yet on any of 6 machines I have running.
(I haven't seen any valid results for anyone else either).
