Yeah, I have test work with today\'s date, so I *guess* they\'re doing a second round of testing. It\'s either that or they threw some more work in just so folks would stop complaining about not having any. Of course if they\'d just post something we\'d know which is which. :P

Don\'t you know? You are not supposed to expect anything, you are a volunteer not a paying subscriber. :)
Like Clive I\'m waiting for things to improve before I get re-involved. Though I would do test units if it would speed up the process.

I too picked up some test work, but no regular work...

I think that those results from late July / early August are coming back to bite us... More than likely they are the bulk of what we see as tasks \"ready to send\", considering that all of the WUs that I still have pending from that timeframe have 1 \"unsent\" task attached to them...

OH, don\'t get me wrong, I\'ve all BUT completely detached. I have 1 computer from each of the (fine grained) HR classes that I use attached with a minimal (4-5%) resource share. I\'m not expecting to do any significant amount of work, just add a bit to the testing.

It hasn\'t been too long yet, but this is the first of the \"test\" units that I\'ve seen remain in an \"unsent\" status for multiple days.

Workunit: 5018766

Might be nothing wrong, but since the dreaded \"unsent\" status is pretty much the bane of my existance on this project it caught my eye.

Edit:

Now that I\'m looking, I found two more: 5020612 and 5021645

I don\'t know if the staff is actively resolving the project\'s woes or not but given the duration and extent of these woes one must consider that the project itself is not particularly important to those who conceived it. I check the status periodically and am disappointed each and every time. I tire of donating my computer to biology when I\'d rather donate it to physics/astronomy/cosmology and those pesky near earth asteroids.

I have quite a few of these now. If I get any more on the next work fetch, I\'m going to stop processing for the project again.

It is really bad when we are doing \"test\" work and again there is no feedback as to progress on the issues...

Seems like they are not even looking at the message boards right now, nor have they been for the past several weeks...which is unfortunate, imho. Although things got quite negative for them here previously, I find that BOINC people are quite forgiving when things start getting better. And the way to start that \"getting better\" process is to communicate, even if it is only a \"we continue to work to fix the problems\" message now and then to reassure people that the project is still interested in them.

So the management side of this project, independent of the technical side, could also be improved imho.....

A note from the admins as to which cpu types - operating system - colour of socks,
they are short of to even up the HR types would help us help them,
We have got the kit they need,
Just tell us what is needed and someone will get active on cosmo to fill this HR type.

There used to be a page, long time ago, that described the hr types and worunits available (I think it was on cosmo?) can we have it back, whatever.

If so, stick it on the bottom of the server status page. . C

Perhaps there\'s hope for the \"unsent\" results yet. Nearly every task I\'ve gotten for the last 24 hours or so has been from the test units created on Sep 14th. I have no idea if this means things are working better or not, but found it interesting at least.

No, that\'s not interesting in the least when compared to this:

One of my pendings from the normal tasks in late-July / early-August was reissued today

I have no idea what that specific task got something sent out and others did not...
