And here I thought, people see black pages, so why do I see the old colours still? Deleted my cache and am now also seeing black. At least it\'s calm on the eyes when the light\'s out, it also explains why I saw this big white space before... Three bugs found: Goodies link on the front page goes to the Rules and Policies page. How to join also goes to the Rules and Policies page, where it doesn\'t say how to join... The old \"When prompted, enter http://www.cosmologyathome.org/ \" is nowhere to be found. The answer window and the Author/Message bar overlap the right boundary of the forums, while the thread view below the answer window goes even further out to the right. This is on Firefox 3.0 Yet seeing how the latter \'bug\' is also showing on other BOINC forums, I think it\'s a bug in the software, not in the layout. |

input{ background-color: #202020; border-color: #303030; } would help for the lost buttons and search input. Invisible buttons are useless. This white message input is larger than the frame enclosing the pages and - it\'s white (well, cream colored), looks very wrong on that black page. The table header above the reply input is wider than the enclosing frame too. The user pages (home.php, prefs.php ...) still need visible table frames, they look ugly and unstructured with that text cluttered all over a plain black area. |

Please report any bugs you might find and give feedback about the look of the site. I totaly agree with Al. This looks like as if a 10 year old kid did that design with ms word or something like it... and i thought the previous design/layout was the worse i\'ve ever seen... well :-( |

I like the \"concept of the week\" idea. Makes us (well, at least me :p) learn something new every week. I hope you can keep up the weekly rate. |

Ugly? Beautiful? Wide range of emotions about this....for me it is just taking some getting used too due to the dramatic change. I do agree with Guy that I like to learn from the \"concept of the week\" and also hope someone stays committed to updating it ;) |

Don\'t like the font/color scheme. I\'m, er.., well, a senior citizen and frankly this new design on my terminal looks hideous and very straining on the eyes. I have to squint to read it or get a magnifying glass. Don\'t like the white on black and small fonts. I suppose the idea is good, but the implementation is NOT COOL. |

I do agree the font could be a little bigger and maybe a different color but all in all I think it\'s a good start. Don\'t forget about the page width thing. As a member of SETI.Germany I quite like the colours, more like our own HP ;) The width is indeed a little problem, the home page itself stretched quite considerably, I have to scroll now. The \"all there in sight\" concept of the normal BOINC suites me more. Grüße vom Sänger ![]() |

I really like the \"Black\" background....the difference is better than any other site I can think of.... good work... |

For those using the old design ... the entry page has an error on it : When prompted, enter http://www.cosmologyathome.org/testsite/ This is not correct of course, even though it might work for a while. Attach to http://www.cosmologyathome.org/ instead |

For those using the old design ... the entry page has an error on it : Nice find. The secret beta site is breached, man the guns! By the way, is this also a bug? Shouldn\'t the color=black option be disabled somehow? When posting with black it shows the background isn\'t black. It\'s more of a very dark red or brown. |

For those using the old design ... the entry page has an error on it : I\'m thinking with this background yellow or another similar color would probably work best along with a larger font. Edit: I mean with the new design. A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory |

Now that the point is made, I suggest we go back to the regular way of posting, using the default text color. |

Can\'t say I\'m thrilled with the new design, but if you made the font bigger it would help a lot. ![]() Calm Chaos Forum...Join Calm Chaos Now |

I like it.My favourite color is here.(Everywhere :-) ) But there are some differencies between IE7 and IE8 beta1,like different padding and so. When I have time I\'ll post screenshots.(I do not expect you to correct this, while IE8 is still in beta phase...this more of notice to others.) About emulation of IE7 in IE8 (It is i think just one meta tag) |

I commend you guys on your efforts to make the website look better. I have personally run websites and forums that have a black theme but what you have done here needs some work. There are just too many issues to list out. I suggest your best bet would be to browse through another website that does have a black theme and copy the color scheme they have used. What is wrong with the \"black.css\" file that came with the BOINC software?. Its being used on RCN; http://dist.ist.tugraz.at/cape5/ and it works perfectly for the website and the message boards. You could then alter the BOINC black.css to give the website your personal touch. The file is in html\\user\\black.css I like black themes, but not the way you presented it here. Also from a new user perspective, put the project URL back on the front page, its simpler for new users getting started. I see step 1, join the project. I see step 2, download BOINC. Where is the bit about \"To attach to project, enter the URL???\" John. |

Would like to say that I agree entirely....well said as well as great suggestions....I found this is too hard on my 50yr old eyes...the link color scheme drove me mad...so I switched back to the \'test site design\' and urge Scott to always keep it available to us old timers in one form or another :) |

I\'d go one step further and suggest to put the old design back in place and put the new one on /testsite as it is far from being \"productive\". ...so I switched back to the \'test site design\' and urge Scott to always keep it available to us old timers in one form or another :) mic. ![]() |

Personally, I like the new look. Now all we need is some graphics for the work units. |
