Has this turned into a windows only project. 48600 wu\'s ready to send and not 1 is apparently for Linux.Seems I am done with this project |

No work for my Windoze machine either, I don\'t trust the Server Status page fully. Are you trying both Linux running on an \"AMD x86_64 or Intel EM64T CPU\" and \"Linux running on an Intel x86-compatible CPU\" as work may be created separately. |

No work for my Windoze machine either, I don\'t trust the Server Status page fully. I also don\'t get any new WU downloaded the whole morning - and I have really the most common Intel platforms and Win-XP-32bit and Win-XP-64bit . So obviously not AMD vs Intel or XP vs. Vista vs. Linux etc.. related but the problem is obviously with the C@H server after the floodgates were re-opened and thousand of crunched WU are uploaded again. |

No work for my Windoze machine either, I don\'t trust the Server Status page fully. Requests by my AMD/Windows machine get \"no work from project\", which means that there was nothing for the feeder to send, no matter what the platform. The status page is essentially worthless, from what I\'ve been able to tell... 2 days of only uploads for the database to \"settle down\"? I\'m having trouble believing that. Even if I do believe it, then, IMO, this indicates a severe problem with something...as even the much more strained SETI servers have been able to recover quicker from far more severe problems... Perhaps I should\'ve not asked people to give balanced feedback, considering the project is showing their inability to do the same... |

Just perhaps there is work but the daemons aren\'t communicating that fact and nothing is being sent out as a result....maybe. |

I think work is allowed to report, but no new work is sent yet. Doesn\'t show on the server status page though. |

From front page: April 2, 2008 Letting the validator catch up Due to the flux in workunits that has been taking place recently, there\'s quite a lot of strain on the database. So, until the validator and the other daemons are caught up on their work, we aren\'t going to send out any more WUs. We\'ll restart the scheduler as soon as it\'s done. Thank you for your patience. They resatrted project daemons yesterday but it may take a while for everyone to see work coming through. ![]() |

I\'ve taken a look at the distribution of workunits across HR classes and the biggest pieces are as follows: Windows Core 2 Duo: 22653 Unassociated: 20354 Windows Xeon: 4906 Windows Athlon 64: 3595 Linux Core 2 Duo: 3316 Linux Xeon: 3153 The rest are under 2000. Since so many are unassociated, I assume that the server problems were the cause of the \"no work\" messages. I think I may have finally solved them (although I should remain cautious about saying that), and I\'ve increased the number of available WUs, so you should be able to get work soon, if not now. Thanks for stopping by, Scott. I run couple of Core 2 Quads hosts on Windows (Win XP, 2003 x64 and 2008 x64) and I get: Cosmology@Home 5.4.2008 21:04:06 Message from server: (there was work but it was committed to other platforms) Cosmology@Home 5.4.2008 21:04:06 Message from server: No work sent Is C2Q considered different from C2D? I assume yes - in BOINC perspective - even those are actualy twins of C2D. BOINC Project specifications and hardware requirements |

Thanks for stopping by, Scott. All Intel \"Core\" processors fall under the C2D label, since they\'re basically all the same architecture. So you\'re saying that both your 32-bit and 64-bit machines aren\'t getting work? Scott Kruger Project Administrator, Cosmology@Home |

I\'ve taken a look at the distribution of workunits across HR classes and the biggest pieces are as follows: My AMD got a partial fill of what it requested just now, then it went back to saying work was committed to other platforms... I think the problem will just be transient while hungry systems go through their \"refill cache\" phase, then it should go back to some sense of normalcy... ![]() |

All Intel \"Core\" processors fall under the C2D label, since they\'re basically all the same architecture. It\'s coming in slowly - it takes several attemps to download just single or couple of WUs but it\'s comming now. Like 5 attemps gives 1 WUs. I can see checksum or signature errors from time to time as well. BOINC Project specifications and hardware requirements |

Thanks for stopping by, Scott. Aha! Things seemed to start coming through about 20:00 UTC. However, I also seem to be getting regular \"Check sum errors\": 05/04/2008 20:25:04|Cosmology@Home|Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. when do you plan to release \"alpha\" C@h? I mean, when do you plan to do this and think the project will be more-less ready to change its state? I`m just curious.. :D |

when do you plan to release \"alpha\" C@h? I mean, when do you plan to do this and think the project will be more-less ready to change its state? I`m just curious.. :D G\'Day Adamo, As I understand it, Alpha comes before Beta, therefore as Cosmology@home has now been Beta for awhile, then it has already been through Alpha. With the current problems some people might say it is running like an Alpha project but that is just the way they perceive it. Beta projects also have problems, even ones running full steam and out of Beta (look at Seti and tell me it does not crash every now and then). So you missed the Alpha stage as you are in the Beta stage. The next stage is a full blown project but that requires more resources than are available at the moment (they are working on it). |
