Hi,

I just looked at the results from my first 2 WUs and noticed this in the output:

Memory Leaks Detected!!!

Probably not a major issue at this point, since runtime and memory footprint is small, but might become a problem later...

Yea, I also have the same error on many of the latest work units crunched lately. Seems to be an issue that started with application version 1.16, As the ones I had run before that version (1.11) didn't have the memory leak message.

Actually most of my results say that. I'm guessing that it is OK since they are valid results.

(I've checked all around my pc but haven't noticed any leakage from my computer onto the desk top---everything is dry.) :) ;)

I´ve looked only to some of my results, but all of them said "Memory leak". At first I fought it was normal...

Besides, this one ended as "Workunit error - check skipped" although Boinc reported it as "Outcome Success"

Do your others "memory leaked" WUs ended also with a wrong validate state?

I have many that say "memory leak" and were valid results.

I doubt they're related. As discussed in the validation thread, there are cross OS issues as well as the validator being very strict.

And remember that success isn't the same as valid. There was a discussion over at E@H a few weeks ago on the wording used on those pages.

I am seeing the memory leaks msg in Windoze only. Linux x86_64 and Linux i686 do not display this msg.
(PS- I hope my use of 'Windoze' does not offend anyone, but if you do real-time data collection, you will notice that Windows "takes a break" from realtime priority tasks to service a mouse movement- hence Windoze).

This has been discussed before. The Linux Fortran compiler is better than the windows one.
Don't worry about the memory leak messages. Scott knows about it. The results still are valid.

Well, I also have this message to all my WUs.

The strange thing is that minutes after I saw that message, my Windows Server box (2k3 DC with SP2 64bit) denied to log me in (screen saver locked) because of insufficient system resources!!!

The thing is that it has 2GBs of RAM installed and 3Gigs of VM (static, stored in a SATA-II HDD (not the system hdd).

So, could it be that this message is not as innocent as you all think?

Well I don't think anyone ever used the term innocent or implied as much but this is what we have to live with in alpha stage....and why Scott posted the disclaimer allowing anyone to join imho

That msg shows up on all Windows WUs. As far as I can tell from the 6 or 7 thousand WU's I've run, it is not a problem.
