Longer Work Units

I just wanted to add that it seems that the longer WUs are about 1.5 longer on my quad.

WOW! I think I've just seen the crest of the wave. Going from estimated 3:41 to 7:23. That's a LOT more than a 1.5X increase. And those times are for a mildly overclocked AMD 6000 X2 (3.1 GHz per core). I would hope the credit gets adjusted fairly soon. |

I've just download some new work units (their dated the 18th). I'm running a Core2 Quad 2.4 GHz Old units estimate time to complete is 2 hours 36 minutes 10 seconds New units estimate time to complete is 5 hours 12 minutes 20 seconds. Should be interesting to see what the actual completion time is.  |

I've just download some new work units (their dated the 18th).Those times sound good to me because I just got a task with projected completion time of 20 hours on my P4/HT 3GHz. I originally had tasks running about 6 hours, now they are running 8, 12 and now 20. That clearly is more than 1.5 times larger. However, with the somewhat wildly variable run times of the tasks my duration correction factor is almost worthless and so are the projected run times. This doesn't help the boinc client calculate how much work to download. |

I've now had a couple of recent WU's validated at 70 points. Is the granted credit proportional? A couple of units took 4+ hours (15,000 seconds) and I'm wondering how they'll come in. Yes, I am a stats junkie! |
