I pre-alpha test for a living. My soul now lives in an unmapped Tahitian chain island, soliced by a (predictably) offshore trust fund and a hashed pseudonym. If I'm lucky, someday it'll buy me a beer.

Hey there Cafe! Good to see one of my buddies from NanoHive!

Did you get to the SJGP this year? I've been every year. Loads of fun!

We need a competition. Pick the project and terms. =;^)

Heyo zombie,

Nope, I made neither the SJGP (4 wheels, eh) nor the Laguna Seca USGP races this year. :(

However, I *will* be going to the Indianapolis MotoGP race nwxt year. Tickets bought, luxe hotel reserved.

Challenge? Hmmmm. You still have those quad cores though. Evil...

You're not the only one.

And I'm wiping the drool off the track pad too.

Run! Get out while you still can. You should see the rest of us after a few projects. Red eyes, shaking hands holding a plastic cup of coffee. Full ashtrays spilling over on the desk, into the keyboard and on the floor. Stacks of empty pizza boxes. And then there are the nights. Waking up crying ten times a night, after yet another nightmare about a work unit that crashed. It's no life... it's no life...

Kidding. Welcome to the ATA crew.

Heh. Yeah, pretend like we don't really live this way!
You know it is true.
We know our destiny :D

(excellent anecdote btw)

I have absolutey no idea what an ATA is (alpha_test_"something"?), but was told there's free beer, so here I am!

I believe ATA is as ATA does...

IOW, you are if you think you are, so long as you actually follow through.

Heh -

Just caught it from the beginning of this thread: Alpha Testers Anonymous

Sorry, guys, I hereby withdraw my membership in ATA. No on-the-wagon for me; No way. I'm going to let my current addiction run rampant!

But, I may drop by a meeting, from time to time, just to see if I can keep a few of you guys from succeding at living the straight-and-narrow! :p

I don't believe I'll have to try too hard. ;-)

^^^

Yes,

And noting the word "anonymous" in the ATA acronym, connotationg a 12 step program, I'm not so sure I'll be finding the free beer in this thread, either.

Bummer. :-(

Guess I'll stick around, anyway. ;-)
